Accelper Consulting offers training and consulting services
to help organizations implement Six Sigma cost
effectively and with breakthrough improvement results.
We provide Executive Overview, Six Sigma Green
Belt, Web-based Six Sigma Green Belt training, Six
Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Certifications, and
hands-on consulting services. We customize our
training programs to meet our clients' specific format and
organizational culture. Our services recognize differences
among manufacturing, service, software, financial, or
insurance businesses for their uniqueness while facilitating
successful implementation of Six Sigma. We have proven our
capability in Manufacturing, software, and services sectors.
Our leading book The Six Sigma
Performance Handbook offers a simplified
implementation of DMAIC methodology using project forms that
ensure adequate and effective implementation of DMAIC for
breakthrough results.
Our staff has trained in Six Sigma worldwide over 15
years for Motorola University, Its clients, and
Accelper, and completed the first Six Sigma project
in 1988 at Motorola, which was published in Quality
Engineering in 1990. Currently, we partner with DePaul
University in offering Six Sigma Black Belt training, and
Illinois Work Force Development Authority for Six Sigma
Green Belt training.
Our clients have seen dramatic improvement results
through projects completed in Six Sigma Green Belt, and Six
Sigma Black Belt training waves.
Accelper Consulting has developed a powerful method to determine corporate sigma level for the first time in the industry, as documented in the
Six Sigma Business Scorecard book. In order to practice the Six Sigma tenet ‘measure what we value,’ one shall measure and track corporate sigma level to sustain its Six Sigma initiative.
We have published several articles in various magazines on the application of Six Sigma and authored several
books on Six Sigma deployment.
Accelper consultant’s focus has been beyond just the training. We commit ourselves to the successful implementation of Six Sigma methodology for immediate results. Download

Characterization of
Copperplating Process for
Ceramic Substrates

Abstract: This report
presents the results of a
systematic study to reduce
process variability. A series of
experiments were conducted to
identify the control variables
which caused variation in the
process and their new settings
for improved results. The
copperplating thickness affected
the electrical performance of
the circuit at high frequencies.
The variation in the plating
thickness was difficult to
detect with simple control
charts. Much engineering time
was wasted in trying to
determine what was wrong with
the process and how to fix it.
As a result of the process
characterization, the authors
were able to prove that process
variability could be reduced by
a factor of two. The potential
benefits with reduced process
variability included elimination
of inspection, savings by
reducing the thickness of silver
coating on the ceramic
substrates, and engineering time
used on improving other
processes rather than fighting
plating problems continuously.
