General Description
Six Sigma, which began as a methodology for improvement,
became a strategy for success. Corporations reported
huge savings. Thus, Six Sigma was standardized as
statistical and fact driven five phase methodology.
Statistics, which is supposed to help in the analysis of
data for drawing conclusions when uncertain, became a
main attraction for some and distraction for others. For
many of us, statistics became a real pain. The excessive
focus on statistics led to confusion, waste in its
implementation, and impediment to realizing
benefits.
Stat Free Six Sigma has been written to minimize the use
of statistics, and to incorporate instead statistical
thinking. Authors using their experience of about 30
years combined, have simplified Six Sigma by focusing on
its intent to achieve quick breakthrough improvement by
focusing on non-statistical powerful and proven tools.
Where statistics is required, it has been converted into
simplified arithmetic.
Six Sigma professionals, novices and practitioners
equally alike, will find the Stat Free Six Sigma (SFSS)
book a straight book on Six Sigma easy to follow, and be
able to realize great results through innovative
application.
